SHORT SYNOPSIS
Banished from Puerto Rico as a teenager after an unwanted pregnancy, Victoria has spent years building a successful career as a playwright in New York, severing ties with her past. She has carefully crafted a life where ambition and art replace the family that cast her out. But when she receives an unexpected call from Sofía, the sister she never met, revealing that their mother is dying, Victoria is forced to return to the home she long ago abandoned.
Stepping back onto the island, Victoria finds herself confronting the ghosts of her past—the weight of exile, the unspoken pain of her estrangement, and the unresolved conflicts with the mother who let her go. Sofía, raised under the same roof but in a vastly different reality, is desperate for a connection, challenging Victoria’s belief that she has no ties left to the island. As the sisters navigate their fractured family history, an unexpected bond begins to form.
But reconciliation is not easy. Old wounds resurface, and Victoria is faced with a painful choice: embrace the family she never knew she needed or return to the life she fought so hard to create. As time runs out, she must confront what home truly means—and whether she is willing to claim it once again.
